The eldest spent time with Nicola on work experience inside the industry. He remains her most trusted sounding board, often brutally honest but also one of her greatest advocates.
Her middle son sat at a kitchen table with a school project about Nigerian banana farmers and unknowingly created SEFAR. The thinking behind it was magnetic: a set of principles so clear, so human, and so instinctively right that his mother simply couldn't let them disappear. She trademarked it, built a business around it, and made sure it mattered.
Her youngest son told her in his late teens, that he didn't think he'd ever have children. Because he feared for their safety on our planet. When Nicola shares that story, other parents always say "mine says that too." This is not one young person's fear. It is a generation's.
