Harrogate Nursery Fair 2026: why it matters, and where to find me

Harrogate Nursery Fair runs from Sunday 18th to Tuesday 20th October at Harrogate Convention Centre. It is the UK's only dedicated nursery trade show, and this year it brings together more than 50 exhibitors across four halls, many of them carrying several brands, from household names in pushchairs and car seats to feeding, sleep, bathing, toys, gifts and nursery furniture. It's trade only, and the people walking the aisles are the ones who decide what reaches families: buyers from national retailers, department stores and supermarkets, and the independent retailers who are the backbone of this industry. With Kind + Jugend in Cologne already behind us in September, Harrogate is where the UK conversation happens, though it continues to draw buyers from Europe and beyond too.

The industry's own voices will be there too, and they're worth a visit. The Baby Products Industry Association (BPIA), on stand C15, has championed the UK baby and nursery products sector since 1945, supporting its members on standards, safety, export and growth. Nursery Today (stand A1) has been the nursery trade's monthly magazine since 1997, in print and online, sent to buyers, independent retailers, suppliers and manufacturers, covering breaking news, new products and retail developments, with a regular email newsletter. Progressive Preschool (stand C16), from Max Publishing, is the only trade magazine covering the whole 0 to 5 market across toys, nursery, gifts, clothing and licensing. It publishes six times a year in print and digital, and runs the annual Progressive Preschool Awards. If you want to know what's happening in this industry, these are the people telling the story.

What I'm looking forward to most this year is the New Brands Zone in Hall C, a dedicated space giving start-ups real visibility in front of those buyers. That is exactly the kind of support new brands need, and it's where I'll be heading. Right alongside it, opposite the BPIA's stand, you'll find the three finalists of the BPIA Concept & Innovation Awards: Swishroll, Eimear Campbell's clever aid for cleaning stroller wheels; Little Pair, Natasha Artwell's new take on portable support for twins; and Hegen, with a multifunctional premium feeding and drinkware system. The winner is announced on Sunday 18th.

What this means for you: Harrogate is where buyers, from national retailers to independents, decide what will be on their shelves next year. If you're a brand making baby and nursery products, it's a great way to get your products in front of those buyers, even if you're small, thanks to the New Brands Zone. And if you're a buyer looking for ideas and innovation, it's a rare chance to see more than 50 exhibitors all in one place, including new brands you may never have seen before.

I'll be at Harrogate Nursery Fair on Monday 19th, and I'm looking forward to meeting the brands in the New Brands Zone and the three finalists. If you're there too and would like to have a chat with me, whether we know each other or not, message me via LinkedIn. And if you can't make it, I'll share what caught my eye in a future issue.
