Organic Zoo x BINIBAMBA: what a brand collaboration looks like when the values match

Every so often a collaboration lands in my inbox and I just smile. Organic Zoo x BINIBAMBA is one of those.
Launched on 1st October, it brings Organic Zoo's much loved Midnight print, those little crescent moons on charcoal and undyed organic cotton, together with BINIBAMBA's signature merino sheepskin. The limited edition includes a Midnight Moon Snugglesuit (£95), Snugglevest, Puffmuff footmuff (£239), Snuggler stroller liner (£132) and Sheepskin Buggy Mitts (£99), alongside buggy sets that pair the pieces with Organic Zoo's Midnight clothing. The Snugglevest has already sold out on Organic Zoo's own site, and retailers had it on sale the same morning it launched.
I have known both of these brands for a long time. I met Paulina Krzywosinska, who founded Organic Zoo, years ago at Dot to Dot in London, when she was more or less just starting out. I loved everything about the business then: her values, the quality of the product, the design aesthetic. And she was a genuinely lovely person who cared deeply about the health and safety of babies and their mothers. Organic Zoo has a very distinctive handwriting, it has always had the most beautiful photography, and in all the years since she has stayed absolutely true to her values. The brand is now a certified B Corp, and the Midnight pieces are made in GOTS certified organic cotton.
I met the team behind BINIBAMBA at Playtime in Paris. Emma Grant founded the brand in 2018 after a career as a fashion buyer, so I expected a beautiful product aesthetic, and that is exactly what they have. But it is the quality that stays with you. Like Organic Zoo, BINIBAMBA has a very clear handwriting that it does not deviate from. They have done some great collaborations before. This one is my favourite.
So why does it work so well? Because these are two businesses that are complementary, not competing. They speak to the same parent, the one who chooses natural fibres, buys fewer and better things and wants them to last, but they do not fight over the same product categories. Organic Zoo brings the print and the clothing. BINIBAMBA brings the sheepskin and the buggy. Each brand introduces the other to a customer who is already primed to love it, and neither loses a sale to the other.
And because both are built on quality, what they have made together is the kind of product that has a second and third life. A sheepskin footmuff and a well made organic snugglesuit are exactly the pieces that get passed on to a sibling or a friend, or sold on, and kept in circulation long after the baby who first wore them has grown out of them. That is circularity by design, not as an afterthought.
What this means for you: before you agree to a collaboration, look past whether the other brand looks good next to yours and ask four questions. Do we share a customer? Do we avoid competing for the same product categories? Are our values genuinely aligned, not just our aesthetic? And will what we make together be good enough to last? If the answer to all four is yes, you have the start of something like this. If not, it is probably a marketing moment rather than a partnership.
Their values are aligned with each other, and with everything we believe in at The Nest. It is a joy to see.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is in the Organic Zoo x BINIBAMBA collection?
A limited edition launched on 1st October 2026 that pairs Organic Zoo's Midnight print with BINIBAMBA's merino sheepskin: a Snugglesuit, Snugglevest, Puffmuff footmuff, Snuggler stroller liner and Sheepskin Buggy Mitts, plus buggy sets combining them with Organic Zoo's Midnight clothing.
What makes a good brand collaboration?
Two brands who share a customer but not a product category, whose values genuinely match, and who make something together that is better than either could make alone. The best collaborations widen both audiences without either brand competing with the other.
How do collaborations support circularity?
When the product is made to last, in quality natural fibres, it can be passed on or resold rather than thrown away. Collaborations built on quality create pieces that hold their value and stay in circulation.
