The Psychology of Colour

The Nest. conscious colour palette

Colour is the first thing anyone feels about a brand, long before they read a word. So when we evolved The Nest's identity this year with our wonderfully talented brand designer, Jill Zendera, we started at the heart of it: three colours, each chosen for what it means, not just how it looks.

Earth Green is the colour of nature, growth and renewal, psychologically the most restful colour in the visible spectrum. For The Nest it represents the earth, and it carries the legacy of where this brand began. Green is where we come from. Sky Blue is the world's most universally trusted colour, the colour of sky and sea. For us it holds two inseparable meanings: the urgency of ocean plastic, and the blue-sky belief that the children's product industry can be the first to become truly sustainable, ethical and circular. Blue is where we are going. Sunlight Yellow is the colour of optimism. This is not a brand built on fear, guilt or warning, but on the genuine belief that extraordinary change is possible. Yellow is why we do what we do.

Together they are earth, sea and sun. The past, the present and the future. And something deeper still: green, blue and yellow represent the three things all life needs to flourish, food, water and sunlight. Remove any one and nothing grows. Hold all three in balance and extraordinary things become possible. That balance is at the heart of everything The Nest stands for: sustainable practice, commercial viability, and belief in what is possible. The conditions for life, and for the kind of growth that lasts.

Build BETTER. Grow CONSCIOUSLY.
